Finland is joining the growing list of countries around the world pushing forward with a program to develop offshore wind energy power generation. While other countries in Scandinavia and the Baltic region have already been moving forward with offshore wind energy, Finland has lagged with only three projects identified and none yet in service or under construction. The Finnish Government, however, is now taking the first steps to license the developments.

Sembcorp Marine Delivers Third and Final Zero-Emission Ferry to Norled

Singaporean shipbuilder Sembcorp Marine has marked the delivery of the last of three fully battery-operated roll-on/roll-off passenger ferries for Norwegian ferry operator Norled. The vessel, Leikanger, marks the third and final Ropax unit built for Norled by Sembcorp Marine, and follows the handover of the sister vessels Hella and Dragsvik in March and July of last year.

Wärtsilä to Roll Out Four More Methanol Engines

Technology group Wärtsilä said it plans to introduce another four methanol engines to its portfolio. In addition to the Wärtsilä 32 methanol engine launched last year, Wärtsilä will add the Wärtsilä 20, Wärtsilä 31, Wärtsilä 46F and Wärtsilä 46TS, available for deliveries at different points from 2025 onward.
