Proman Stena Bulk, a joint venture (JV) company of Stena Bulk and Proman, has taken the delivery of its fourth methanol-fueled tanker from Guangzhou Shipyard International. Dubbed Stena Prosperous, the 49,990 deadweight tonnage (DWT) vessel will fully commercially operate on methanol.

While other countries in Scandinavia and the Baltic region have already been moving forward with offshore wind energy, Finland has lagged with only three projects identified and none yet in service or under construction. Sembcorp Marine Delivers Third and Final Zero-Emission Ferry to Norled

Singaporean shipbuilder Sembcorp Marine has marked the delivery of the last of three fully battery-operated roll-on/roll-off passenger ferries for Norwegian ferry operator Norled. The vessel, Leikanger, marks the third and final Ropax unit built for Norled by Sembcorp Marine, and follows the handover of the sister vessels Hella and Dragsvik in March and July of last year.

Largest Suction Sails Installed on Dutch Short-Sea Cargo Ship

Bound4blue, a Spanish company that is developing automated wind-assisted propulsion systems, reports it has completed the installation of the largest fixed suction sails ever built and placed on a commercial ship. It is an evolution of the company’s technology that was first installed in December 2021 and will be used to undertake a 12-month test to validate the benefits of the rigid sail.
