Bearing AI launches fleet deployment tool

Maritime AI specialists Bearing AI has launched a new “Deployment Planner”. It said its aim is to assist cargo liners navigate the changing regulatory environment, while ensuring speedy delivery and profitability.

The California-based company has financial backing from Japan’s powerful Mitsui Group and AI venture capital group AI Fund.

The new product will enable “real-time… scenario simulation” with inputs including historical route data, future projections and regulatory parameters.

Bearing AI said the tool will suggest adjustments like fleet rotation to maintain emissions compliance and propose alternate routes or contracts for “underperforming vessels.”

The firm explained how its “deep learning” technology would speed up decision making and precision.

“[The product] simulates the impact of different service schedules on fuel consumption and vessel performance, acting as a “schedule playground” to help liners quickly identify the most cost and emissions-efficient deployments Bearing AI’s deep learning models analyze multiple variables and calculate millions of potential combinations to provide real-time, precise predictions on emissions, fuel costs, fleet performance and other essential metrics.”
